Trunk or Treat – 4:15 to 5:30PM in the church parking lot, followed by pizza and cupcakes in the hall

October 31, 2021 @ 4:15 pm - 5:30 pm

HALLOWEEN TREATS FOR OUR FRIENDS ON THE STREETS!
Our Religious Education Program will be hosting a program for helping our homeless.  Jesus said the greatest commandment of all is to “Love Thy Neighbor As Thyself.”  This year we are teaching some “living lessons” to help our students learn that “our neighbor” is not necessarily the person who lives next door to us or across the street, but every human who is in need of help.  Now you, too, can help us teach this lesson!
On Halloween, Sunday, October 31,  from 4:15 to 5:30PM, we will be meeting in the parking lot of Holy Trinity Church (rain or shine—if necessary, it will be in the church hall).  A volunteer will guide you as to where to park your vehicle and you will need to park it so that your trunk or the back of your vehicle that opens will have boxes or tubs of items from our wish list below.  The students will each use gift bags and go “shopping” trunk to trunk for one item from each trunk to put into their gift bag for a homeless person, residents in St. Clare’s Home in Hyannis or senior housing at Pine Oaks Villages.  We will distribute the bags on a later date during our community service projects.
When they have exhausted all the items in the trunks and the gift bags are all full, everyone is invited into the parish hall for pizza and cupcakes as a HUGE thank you for helping us.  Our goal is to fill 50 bags, so please contact Barbara-Anne Foley at 508-237-3349 if you will be participating in this very important program at our parish!
If you do not drive in the later afternoon or are unable to go shopping but still want to help, there are many ways to do this.  During the day you can drop off your items to the parish office Monday through Thursday 9-12 & 1-3:30 and Friday 9-12.  Or you can make a check out to Holy Trinity Religious Education Program and in the memo put “Friends on the Streets donation,” and we will use that money to purchase items on this list.
